Mr. Doyle's financial column "The Investor's Guide," appeared in more than 100 newspapers five times weekly for 15 years. He first began writing his column in 1957. In addition to penning his column, he also served as business editor for the Star-Ledger (Newark, N.J.) and New York Daily News. Mid-career, he took a break from newspapers and spent seven years in public relations. Mr. Doyle died in 1996 from emphysema.
