Eve Krzyzanowski

If there hadn't been a Financial News Network, would there be a CNBC?

Perhaps. Regardless, FNN whetted the public's appetite for continuous business news coverage on television. Ardent viewers could track the ebb and flow of the stock market all day long if they wished. And behind the scenes was Ms. Krzyzanowski, a veteran television news director, who joined FNN in 1985 as senior producer after serving as a producer at all three major networks.

Ms. Krzyzanowski advanced to vice president of news programming for FNN and played a crucial role in the cable television network's staffing and programming. She also served as executive producer of "This Morning's Business," a half-hour business news program that was aired on more than 150 U.S. stations, including all of CBS' owned and operated outlets. She left FNN in late 1989 and later joined BBC Worldwide Americas.

A graduate of Vassar College, the New York City native won an Emmy and an award from the National Education Association in 1996 for "Eyewitness," a PBS science series.
